Background

Choreographer’s Spotlight is a YouTube video series that centers around noteworthy dance choreographers and their contributions to the modern dance world.

Whether you are a dancer or not, it is hard to deny that both competitive and artistic dance have made their way into the hearts and minds of many during these past few years. Now it’s time to recognize the choreographers that have made this possible. Through creating a series of short videos (2-4 minutes each) with this in mind, viewers will be introduced to the revolutionary choreographers who are making an impact on modern day dance.

Final Videos

Video 1: Introduction

Who am I? And why does this matter? Giving my viewers a little background helps build credibility and shows passion and authenticity, something that helps videos shine.

Video 2: Kyle Hanagami

What’s amazing about Kyle is not just his choreography but how he shares his talent. He’s brought dance to people all over the world through online tutorials and in-person classes. Whether you’re learning a routine from his YouTube channel or joining one of his classes in person, Kyle makes sure everyone has the chance to dance. Which is exactly why he is the first choreographer I selected to showcase!

Video 3: Talia Favia

Talia Favia’s passion for teaching and creating new choreography is obvious in everything she does, whether it’s for a class, a performance, or TV which is what makes her one of my favorite choreographers. In addition to her being one of my fall time favorites, she has created impactful pieces that have reached millions through shows like Dancing With The Stars and So You Think You Can Dance.

Video 4: Carsen Rowe

You may have seen the routines from the Ohio State and LSU dance teams back in January, did you know Carsen is the mastermind behind those viral Pom and Hip-Hop pieces?! Carsen Rowe is making waves in the college, high school, and professional dance worlds.

Conclusion

After many hours of editing and tying up loose ends, I am proud to present Choreographer’s Spotlight, a YouTube channel/video series that aims to highlight modern dance choreographers who are redefining the world of dance through movement.
